there shall be showers of blessings
i've been thinking...so dangerous i know :) but anyways yes when i'm standing inside those big ol bathtubs scrubbing away i think. probably more than i should. actually i can't say that my thoughts ever take a philosophic or educational turn it's actually day dreaming. i'de classify myself as more of a dreamer than a thinker. so now that we have that out of the way i was actually thinking not day dreaming. my thoughts have been in the direction of God's purposes and plans for us which sometimes, frankly, reamain illusive. i was talking to mom on sunday and i was mentioning about trials and she said that sometimes as christians we think really negatively in the area of trials and blessings. we tend to think that God will only give us trials or thats all we'll ever face either because we don't deserve blessings or because we only seem to learn from our difficult times in life. she pointed out that God delights in giving us blessings and that he wants to bless us. he is glorified just as much in the blessings as in hard times.
it made me think of how he took as much pleasure in the tears of job as in the riches of solomon.
are we willing to lay hold of God for the desires of our hearts whatever they are? are willing to wrestle with God for more than a name. (genesis 32) when jacob wrestled with God, he refused to let go until God blessed him. he wouldn't let go even when the angel asked him too until God gave him a blessing. we can take the lessons that we've learned from our trials and apply them to our blessings as well. God is so good to us and i'm going to keep asking him and begging him for the desires of my heart. but one thing i've learned is that i am so grateful for the trials and what he has taught me. he has never left me once and he carries me through the most difficult things that i thought i could never face. as long as our hearts are right with God he delights in us when we come to him with our wants and needs. it's pretty cool to see God working all things out for good and to see him granting me the desires of my heart in his way and in his timing. it's way better than mine and it's so worth waiting for. i dont know bout you but that makes me happy.
all my love,

to see the world change
wrestled the angel for more than a name

for more than a cause...."
